Children's Occupational Therapist - Disability Team

Are you a dedicated healthcare professional with a passion for paediatric care? We are currently seeking an experienced Locum Children's Occupational Therapist to join a specialised Disability Team in the Leeds area. In this role, you will manage a complex caseload, providing essential support to children with diverse physical and behavioural needs. This is an excellent opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of families within our community.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children in their home environments to identify physical and behavioural needs.
  • Provide expert recommendations for specialist equipment and perform complex moving and handling assessments.
  • Design and oversee major home adaptations to improve accessibility and quality of life.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and stakeholders to ensure holistic support.
  • Maintain a steadfast commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the HCPC.
  • Proven experience in paediatric occupational therapy, specifically regarding specialist equipment and major adaptations.
  • Advanced clinical reasoning skills and the ability to make sound, independent judgements.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with a collaborative "can-do" approach.
  • Ability to travel independently by car and possession of a clear DBS check.
Position Details

This full-time position consists of 37 hours per week (08:30 - 17:00). The team operate a professional hybrid working pattern between home and office.
