About the role
We are looking for empathetic, patient, and dependable Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with individuals on the autism spectrum, helping them navigate daily routines, build confidence, and achieve their personal goals in a supportive, non judgmental environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities, personal routines, and skill-building exercises.
- Support access to local community activities, hobbies, and social outings.
- Implement personalised communication strategies and sensory management tools.
- Maintain a calm, structured, and safe environment tailored to individual sensory needs.
- Keep clear, accurate shift logs and report on progress or changes in well being.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in care, support work, or neurodivergent care (preferred, but training is provided).
- To embed and demonstrate Scottish Autism's values (Compassion, Contribution, Collaboration, and Change Maker) in all aspects of service delivery.
- Strong active listening skills, empathy, and high emotional intelligence.
- Reliability, consistency, and a person-centered mindset.
- Adaptability to different communication styles (verbal, visual)
- Valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle (optional/preferred depending on role).
