Are you a passionate Children's Social Worker dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of children and young people with complex needs?
Tameside Council is seeking an experienced, motivated Children's Social Worker to join their established Children with Disabilities Team. Offering a competitive pay rate of £39.00 per hour, this role is based in a warm, collaborative environment with free on-site parking and a clear working structure designed to deliver high-quality, child-centred practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Specialist Assessments: Undertake statutory assessments, eligibility determinations, and child-centred support plans tailored for children and young people with disabilities.
Safeguarding & Interventions: Lead on safeguarding enquiries, statutory care planning, and complex multi-agency interventions to ensure children reach their full potential.
Direct Work: Engage directly with children, young people, and their families to promote positive outcomes and maintain robust relational care.
Multi-Agency Practice: Partner with health specialists, occupational therapists, SEN teams, and education providers to deliver holistic support packages.
What We Are Looking For:
Professional Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Core Competencies: Proven post-qualifying experience in Children's Social Care, ideally within a Children with Disabilities, Safeguarding, or Complex Needs team.
Working Pattern Commitment: Comfort with a predominantly office/community-based model (maximum 1 day per week working from home).
Mindset: Enthusiastic, child-focused practitioner committed to promoting independence, inclusion, and safety.
