About the role

Planner Scheduler required to join the team supporting the UU Maintenance Service Provider (MSP) framework. The role involves developing, managing, and maintaining detailed, compliant project schedules to ensure the efficient delivery of maintenance and capital works across a large portfolio of water and wastewater treatment sites. You will work closely with project managers, operational teams, supply chain partners, and other stakeholders to produce robust programmes that align with contract requirements and framework standards.
The Planner Scheduler will be responsible for creating and updating project schedules using recognised project management methodologies, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing clear reporting on programme progress. You will play a key role in coordinating multidisciplinary activities, ensuring logical sequencing, and supporting the delivery of projects on time and within scope. The role requires strong communication skills to engage with diverse teams and the ability to adapt plans in response to project changes or delays.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a major infrastructure programme that serves millions of people, supporting essential water and wastewater services across the North West of England.

Skills:
- Extensive experience in project planning and scheduling
- Strong knowledge of contract requirements and framework compliance
- Ability to develop and maintain detailed, logic-linked project programmes
- Risk identification, mitigation, and opportunity management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and collaborative environments
- Ability to produce clear and insightful progress and recovery reports
- Understanding of project controls and earned value management

Software/Tools:
- Primavera P6
- Microsoft Project

Certifications & Standards:
- Relevant professional qualifications in project planning or management
- Knowledge of NEC and other relevant contract forms advantageous
- Technical degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline preferred
