Job Overview
The Estates Data, Systems & Reporting (DSR) team’s mission is to serve as an agile enabler and assurer to DWP Estates in delivering its strategy through the whole data lifecycle for reliable, validated and assured data, systems and insight. This is in part achieved through delivery of the Estates Data Strategy, considering the DWP, DWP Data and DWP Estate Strategies in its formulation.
The role focuses on data and reporting assurance, optimisation, systemisation and DWP Digital, Estates, Integrator and Supply chain collaboration. Delivering and supporting the following 5 enablers from the Estates Data Strategy – Primarily Data, Reporting, Infrastructure and assurance while supporting Data Management, data & systems governance, data culture change, Automation and Systems Assurance as means to enable the Estates Data strategy delivery. Lead the development and implementation of DWP’s Estates’ strategic Data Warehouse and Reporting environment from its Integrator 2 contract to meet the requirements of the DWP Estates function, its operating model.
Drawing on an extensive background of experience in data engineering your skills will enable you to work with Digital Architects to define and specify the relevant requirements to deliver on the Estates Data Strategy, with specific focus on integrating Data from the Integrator 2 and supply chain in Workplace Services to the DWP. From concept specification to project delivery, delivering data and analytical solutions on the analytics and data reporting platforms. You will be able to act as a senior technical expert in all aspects of delivery and be prepared to provide leadership and guidance to functionally imbedded analysts in a collaborative way. You will be driving the development of a longer-term Analytical strategy for Estates with the Head of Estates Data and Systems, DWP Analytica Services and OGD (Other Government Departments such as GPA & Cabinet Office) to build a sustainable Analytical environment in Estates.
You will develop the Estates Data engineering team to help implement and maintain the technology infrastructure that is integrating new and existing sources of data into Data Analytics processes and workflows, so that it can be exploited with maximum efficiency and efficacy. Key skills required include: data engineering, data architecture, data analysis, security architecture, DevOps, people development and business partnering.

Key accountabilities
Supporting the day-to-day running of the DSR Workstream with activities such as:
- Support the day-to-day running of the Systems & Data team by ensuring the effective delivery of BAU reporting and data functions, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to align with DWPE’s data strategy
- Gather and document business requirements from various departments, ensuring that report design and implementation meet the needs of the DWP Estates business
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate these into actionable data requirements, ensuring that all reporting outputs are accurate and timely
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reporting frameworks that support BAU processes, including the creation of dashboards and regular performance reports to monitor key metrics
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure that data systems are designed and implemented to support business requirements, including data integration and workflow automation
- Provide training and support to end-users on the use of reporting tools and systems, ensuring that they can effectively utilize the data to make informed business decisions
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of reporting processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance data accuracy and reporting efficiency
- Support in the development of new reporting initiatives that support strategic business objectives, working closely with senior management to ensure alignment with overall business goals

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Demonstrable analytical experience of working in Real Estate, Facilities Management and associated services, including Asset Management essential [Lead Criteria 1]
- Demonstrable experience in understanding and addressing the specific needs and challenges related to asset maintenance and operational efficiencies [Lead Criteria 2]
- Extensive experience in supporting BAU business processes through effective reporting, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagemen
