Help maintain HR systems that protect the UK’s security interests
When you join our team in this important role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of our HR systems and ensuring relevant data is accurate and current. Reviewing, streamlining and continually improving our reporting processes, we will also expect you to produce regular ad hoc Management Information reports, and populate the Civil Service data returns and internal dashboards circulated to our senior Executives. Highlighting any changes, patterns or trends found in reports, and analysing the data to understand possible underlying causes or correlations, you will also contribute to the improvement of our systems and services by identifying, testing and implementing updates and changes.
Responsible for monthly pay-related processes including queries, investigations, payroll reconciliation and the checking and approval of payments, you will support reward projects including the annual pay award and audit. Keeping up to speed with the latest regulations, policies and processes, and committed to ensuring your workload is effectively prioritised and managed, you’ll also respond to enquiries from colleagues and collaborate across teams to improve shared processes. And when necessary, you should be ready to assist your colleagues with issues relating to wider HR policies and projects, and ensure relevant Service Level Agreements are met.
Develop your career as you help to keep the country safe and secure
To be a success in this busy role you’ll possess the skills to analyse, interrogate and evaluate data, undertake service reporting, and be ready to work with specialist IT systems and databases and the Microsoft Office suite of software, with a particular focus on Excel. With proven experience of using and maintaining a Cloud based ERP system in an HR context, you should also be capable of writing work processes and working on pay casework.
A confident planner and organiser with well developed research and benchmarking skills, you should possess the ability to communicate confidently with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders, and have practical experience of working in a customer-facing role. A collaborative and effective team player with the skills to prioritise and manage your own diary, previous experience of working in an HR policy or operational role would be desirable, as would an understanding of payroll and LEAN processes, methods and tools.
Discover the support you need to grow your career further
But we’re always looking to improve – just like you. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.
Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Security Check (SC) clearance. You can find out more about vetting at fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/
