    Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN1 Allowance (in line with current pay scales) £32,916 -£45,350 SEN £2,786

    Olsen House School is a specialist setting for students with Education, Health and Care Plans, with a core focus on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and associated social, emotional and mental health needs.     The opportunity

    We are seeking a calm, skilled and ambitious Nurture Teacher to provide high-quality curriculum coverage across KS2 and KS3. The role will focus on:

    • Delivering a broad and balanced curriculum across KS2 and KS3
    • Re-engaging students who may have experienced disrupted education or significant gaps in learning
    • Creating a calm, predictable and nurturing classroom environment
    • Adapting teaching so students with ASD/SEND can access learning and make sustained progress

    You will:

    • Plan and teach sequenced learning across KS2 and KS3, adapting content to students’ starting points and EHCP outcomes.
    • Use strong routines, modelling, scaffolding and explicit instruction to make learning accessible and purposeful.
    • Build secure, respectful relationships that support regulation, engagement, independence and confidence.
    • Use assessment and feedback to identify gaps, plan next steps and demonstrate progress over time.
    • Contribute to curriculum planning, quality assurance and the wider improvement work of the school.
    • Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and therapists to reduce barriers and improve outcomes for students with complex needs.

    • Can teach confidently across KS2 and KS3 and adapt learning across a wide range of starting points.
    • Understands how autism, SEMH needs and disrupted education can affect engagement and learning.

    • Has high expectations and a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
