About the Digital, Data and Cyber Team

The Digital, Data and Cyber Team is transforming the way GLD works through modern technology, data and digital services.

We are building a modern digital workplace that empowers our people, strengthens collaboration and enables the organisation to operate efficiently, securely and sustainably.

Through agile delivery and user-centred approaches, we design and deliver products and services in partnership with the people who use them, ensuring solutions meet real needs and deliver lasting value.

As part of the wider Government Digital and Data profession, we play a key role in transforming how government operates, enabling better outcomes for colleagues, stakeholders and the public we serve.

The Role

As a Microsoft 365 Developer, you will design, develop and support digital solutions across Microsoft 365 and Power Platform. You'll deliver and enhance SharePoint Online intranet solutions, build Power Platform applications and automation, and support the organisation's Power Platform governance strategy through the implementation and management of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) Toolkit. Working across the full solution lifecycle, you'll help deliver secure, scalable and user-focused services that align with Microsoft 365 security, governance and accessibility standards.

You'll be a proactive developer who enjoys solving business problems through technology in a multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape GLD's digital services by delivering modern Microsoft 365 and Power Platform solutions that improve collaboration, processes and the overall user experience of colleagues across the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and maintain solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Develop and support SharePoint Online sites, intranets and document management solutions.
  • Build Power Apps to meet business needs.
  • Design and maintain Dataverse data models, business rules and security roles.
  • Build custom SharePoint Framework (SPFx) web parts and extensions where
  • Use PnP PowerShell to automate administration, deployment and governance activities.
  • Support Power Platform governance, monitoring and adoption using the Centre of Excellence (CoE) Toolkit.
  • Troubleshoot, support and enhance existing solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, business analysts and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Contribute to agile ceremonies, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Security Clearance Level

All GLD employees must pass BPSS. If successful for this post you must hold or be willing to obtain SC level clearance for this role.
