About the role

Complex Case Technical Lead (Mechanical & Electrical)

At Peabody, resident safety comes first. We're looking for two Complex Case Technical Leads (Mechanical & Electrical) to lead the investigation and resolution of some of our most complex, high-risk and high-profile building services and compliance challenges across our homes and communities.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced M&E professional to use their technical expertise to solve complex problems, protect residents and influence decisions at a senior level. Working closely with senior leaders, operational teams and contractors, you'll take ownership of escalated cases, identify root causes, challenge technical solutions and drive lasting improvements across our housing portfolio.

These are hybrid roles, with minimum 2 days per week based in our Waterloo office, alongside home working and occasional site visits as required.

  • Identifying root causes and delivering sustainable solutions.
  • Managing technical, compliance and resident safety risks.
  • Challenging contractor recommendations and driving accountability.
  • Supporting compliance with Awaab's Law and building safety requirements.
  • Providing technical expertise and advice to senior stakeholders.

What you’ll need

  • Experience managing complex compliance, building safety, asset management or repairs cases within social housing or residential property.
  • Strong technical knowledge of residential M&E systems and experience investigating defects, identifying root causes and delivering long-term solutions.
  • Experience managing complex resident-facing cases and working with multiple stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Awaab's Law, building safety and relevant housing compliance requirements.
  • Strong project, case management and stakeholder influencing skills.
  • A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Building Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • Professional membership of CIBSE, IET, CIOB, RICS or CIH, and/or IOSH, NEBOSH, Building Safety, Compliance, Asset Management or Project Management qualifications are desirable.
