Metal Prep Technician

Are you a hands-on individual with a keen eye for detail and a knack for metal prep?

We’re looking for a Temporary Preparation Technician to join a busy workshop near Thatcham, supporting our client with essential prep work. This role is perfect if you have decent hand tool skills, can sand and file confidently, and aren’t afraid of a bit of drilling.

This is a great opportunity for someone with metal preparation experience or a general DIY background who wants to get stuck in and develop their skills further. The role offers practical, hands-on work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and attention to detail matter.

Pay:

• £13.80 per hour
• Monday to Friday (39 hours per week) – Early finish on Fridays!

What you’ll be doing:

• Preparing metal parts by sanding, filing and smoothing surfaces to a high standard
• Using hand tools confidently to prep and finish components
• Performing drilling and minor metalwork tasks as required
• Inspecting parts for quality and consistency before passing on to the next stage
• Maintaining a clean and organised workspace
• Following health and safety procedures at all times

What we’re looking for:

• Basic experience in metal preparation or workshop hand tool skills
• Ability to work efficiently and pay close attention to detail
• Comfortable using sanding tools, files and drills
• Good team player with a proactive attitude
• Reliable and punctual, with the ability to follow instructions accurately
