The Role

We’re recruiting for Data Sharing Managers here at Justice Digital, Data and Science to be part of our warm and collaborative Data Sharing team.

The Service Transformation Group brings together, for the first time, our digital, data, AI, security, project delivery and transformation teams alongside our three fantastic agencies: the Legal Aid Agency (LAA), the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA).

Justice Data Directorate sources, fixes and links data from across the justice system to develop products, tools and insights for leaders, policy makers, and front-line staff. We deliver the right high-quality data at the right time to the right people to improve decision making.

Public services collect a large amount of data which is intended to be used to improve their quality, but it is often not shared between organisations, making it difficult to understand effectiveness and impact of policies.

The Data Sharing Hub sits within the Justice Data Directorate and provides clear guidance, templates, and tools to support colleagues to complete data sharing activities responsibly and efficiently. We serve as a single point of contact for all data sharing enquiries in Justice Data, Justice Digital, Data and Science (JDDS), and the Policy & Analysis Directorate, providing guided support throughout the process.

The post-holder sits within the Data Sharing Hub, one of the most important workstreams of Justice Data Directorate. Facilitating cross-government negotiations to share data and drive the evidence base for effective public services.

You’ll receive a range of excellent benefits when you join our department, including:

  • A generous employer pension contribution of 28.97% through the Civil Service Pension Scheme.
  • 25 days of annual leave, (increasing to 30 days once you have reached 5 years of service),plus 8 bank holidays and a privilege day for the King’s birthday.
  • Flexible working arrangements including hybrid working, working part time or compressed hours. Designed to support a positive work–life balance.
  • Employees are allocated 10% of their working time for personal and professional development.
  • A £1k per person learning budget is in place to support all our people, with access to best-in-class conferences and seminars, accreditation with professional bodies, fully funded vocational programmes and e-learning platforms.
