About the role

Zest are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and committed PPA Class Teacher to join our welcoming primary school in Great Barr from October 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated teacher to work across the school, delivering high-quality lessons to cover Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time. The successful candidate will teach across a range of year groups, ensuring consistency, engagement and continuity in pupils’ learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality lessons across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2
  • Follow pre-planned lessons and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Uphold behaviour and safeguarding policies consistently
  • Work effectively with class teachers and support staff
  • Provide feedback on learning and pupil progress where appropriate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Is confident teaching across the primary age range (ECTs welcome to apply)
  • Is adaptable, organised and able to quickly build positive relationships with pupils
  • Has high expectations of behaviour and achievement
  • Is a strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Is committed to inclusion, wellbeing and raising standards

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
