Multiple opportunities are available for experienced Clinical Negligence Partners to join an established and highly regarded team within a leading UK law firm.

This is a priority recruitment campaign for the business, with a strong focus on expanding its Clinical Negligence offering. Candidates can expect a fast and streamlined interview process, with the first stage held virtually and the second stage in person.

The team represents claimants and their families following poor medical treatment and handles a broad range of clinical negligence matters, including complex and high-value claims. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, ambitious and well-established team with genuine scope to develop your practice and play a key role in the continued growth of the department.

The Role

The successful candidate will take a leading role within the Clinical Negligence team, handling a high-quality caseload while contributing to the strategic development and growth of the practice.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of complex and high-value clinical negligence matters with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Handling a wide range of clinical negligence cases and providing expert advice to clients.
  • Maintaining an excellent working knowledge of the CPR and law relating to clinical negligence.
  • Providing clear, sensitive and pragmatic advice to clients on complex matters.
  • Drafting and reviewing witness statements, pleadings and other legal documentation.
  • Reviewing medical reports and providing expert analysis and advice.
  • Instructing and working closely with Counsel and other external experts.
  • Dealing with highly complex conferences, hearings and litigation.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supporting the development of junior members of the team through supervision, coaching and mentoring.
  • Contributing to the strategic development of the Clinical Negligence practice.
  • Identifying and pursuing business development and networking opportunities.
  • Developing new client relationships and contributing to the growth of the team’s caseload.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider firm.
  • Maintaining high professional standards and excellent client care.

About You

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Clinical Negligence lawyer with a strong technical background and the ability to contribute to the continued growth of an established practice.

You will ideally have:

  • A strong reputation and track record within the Clinical Negligence market.
  • Excellent client care and relationship management skills.
  • The ability to develop and maintain a successful caseload.
  • Strong business development and networking skills.
  • Experience supervising, coaching and mentoring junior lawyers.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial and forward-thinking approach.
  • The ambition to play a significant role in the continued growth of the practice.

Candidates with an established following or client base are particularly encouraged to apply, although this is not an absolute requirement. The firm is open to discussing opportunities with individuals who can demonstrate the ability and ambition to develop their own practice.

Salary

Salary and overall package are open to discussion and will be determined based on the successful candidate’s level of experience, technical expertise, client following and overall suitability for the role.
