Job Overview
-
The role is responsible for coordinating, consolidating, validating, and distributing program and project controls reporting across the SMR Program. The individual will ensure timely, accurate, and consistent project information is available to program stakeholders and leadership to support effective decision-making and project delivery.

Project Controls Compliance: Support compliance of assigned projects with established project controls standards, processes, procedures, and contractual requirements.

Program Reporting and Coordination: Coordinate inputs from multiple project and functional teams, consolidate information, validate data, and ensure accurate and timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Project Status Reporting: Create and maintain project status reports, forecast reports, dashboards, and other reporting tools. Ensure reporting accurately reflects current project performance, risks, trends, and key activities.

Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Construction, and other internal and external groups to obtain and validate information required for project controls and program reporting.

Data Analysis and Validation: Review project data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Identify discrepancies, trends, and variances and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues.

Forecasting and Variance Analysis: Monitor project forecasts and conduct regular variance analysis to identify trends and deviations from approved baselines. Prepare variance narratives and support the development of corrective actions and recovery plans.

Resource and Cost Planning: Develop and maintain resource plans to support alignment between project costs, schedules, and resource requirements.

Earned Value Management: Prepare and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics and KPIs to assess project performance and identify emerging trends or areas requiring attention.

Change Management: Develop and maintain change logs to track internal and external changes and monitor progress through the established change management process.

Cost and Control Account Management: Establish and maintain the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and control accounts in alignment with approved baseline budgets. Ensure appropriate alignment between the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and CBS.

Forecast and Cash Flow Management: Ensure project forecasts are updated accurately and on a timely basis, using performance KPIs and project trends to inform forecasting. Prepare and maintain project cash flow forecasts aligned with the project schedule.

Reporting Tools and Continuous Improvement: Support the development and maintenance of project controls tools, templates, dashboards, and reporting processes to improve consistency, efficiency, and compliance with project controls plans and requirements.

Project Set-Up and Estimating Support: Assist with project set-up and estimating activities to ensure continuity and alignment between project estimates, approved baselines, and project controls requirements.

Cost Account Monitoring: Proactively monitor forecasts and cost accounts to identify outstanding items and support timely closure of completed cost accounts.

Communication and Decision Support: Summarize complex project information clearly and concisely to support program leadership and stakeholders in understanding project performance, emerging risks, and required actions.
Qualifications

University degree in Quantitative Analysis, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Finance, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of related project controls, cost control, project coordination, or project reporting experience.

Demonstrated experience supporting project controls activities within complex projects or programs.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret and summarize complex project information.
-
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
-
Experience developing and maintaining project reports, dashboards, forecasts, and project controls documentation.
-
Knowledge of project cost control, forecasting, variance analysis, change management, and project performance reporting.

Experience with Earned Value Management and project performance KPIs is an asset.

Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines.

Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, quality, and completeness.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly summarize complex information for different stakeholders.
