About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Salesforce Delivery Manager with proven Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementation experience to join a leading UK retail organisation on an initial six-month contract. This role offers the chance to take ownership of a business-critical programme at a pivotal stage, leading the final phases of a large-scale Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementation that will be rolled out in a phased approach across multiple well-known consumer brands over the next six months.

This is a hands-on delivery leadership position where you will be expected to hit the ground running, quickly understand the current programme landscape and provide the leadership needed to drive successful delivery. You will take ownership of programme execution, ensuring workstreams remain on track, delivery risks are actively managed, dependencies are coordinated, and key milestones are achieved. This is not a role for someone who simply reports progress—you will be expected to challenge, influence and drive action across all delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Working within an Agile delivery environment, you will act as the central point of coordination between a Global Systems Integrator, Salesforce Professional Services, internal technology teams and multiple business stakeholders. You’ll oversee delivery across onshore and offshore teams, ensuring everyone is aligned and focused on achieving programme objectives. As issues arise, you’ll be responsible for assessing the impact, presenting options, facilitating decisions and ensuring delivery continues with minimal disruption.

A significant part of the role will involve stakeholder management. You’ll build strong relationships across both technology and business functins, working closely with senior leaders, programme sponsors and executive stakeholders. You’ll be comfortable communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences, providing regular updates, managing expectations and ensuring stakeholders have confidence in the programme’s progress throughout each phase of delivery.

Although this isn’t a hands-on Marketing Cloud configuration role, you’ll need a strong understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementations and be confident engaging in detailed technical discussions with architects, developers and Salesforce specialists. Previous experience delivering complex Marketing Cloud programmes is essential, enabling you to challenge delivery plans, understand technical dependencies and make informed decisions when delivery issues arise.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive programme and delivery management experience gained within complex enterprise environments, with a demonstrable delivering Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementations through critical go-live phases. Experience managing Global Systems Integrators, coordinating distributed onshore and offshore delivery teams, and leading large-scale marketing transformation programmes will be key to your success. Experience within retail or e-commerce would be advantageous, although candidates with strong digital or customer marketing transformation experience from other industries will also be considered.

Success in this role will be measured by your ability to quickly establish control of the programme, gain a comprehensive understanding of the current delivery landscape and build credibility with stakeholders during your first month. From there, your focus will be on ensuring each phased go-live is delivered on schedule, to the required quality standards and with clear communication across all parties, while proactively identifying and resolving risks before they impact delivery.

This contract offers a flexible hybrid working model based from Waterloo, with no fixed office attendance requirements and the emphasis firmly placed on finding the right individual. The interview process is expected to be concise, with one to two stages, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Salesforce Delivery Manager looking to make an immediate impact on a high-profile Marketing Cloud transformation programme.
