A well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Wareham is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join its busy machine shop team. This is a hands-on role focused on programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-quality components to tight tolerances.
 
The role would suit an experienced CNC Turner or CNC Programmer with strong machining capability who is confident working in a fast-paced production environment and contributing to efficient day-to-day output.
 
The Role
As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture precision components.
Key responsibilities include:

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Editing programs and carrying out tooling adjustments.
• Performing tool setting and offset adjustments.
• Producing components to tight tolerances.
• Carrying out self-inspection and quality checks.
• Maintaining a clean and organised machine shop environment.
• Following all health & safety and quality procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a CNC Turner, CNC Setter or CNC Programmer.
• Experience using Fanuc controls or similar CNC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances.
• Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• A proactive, reliable and self-motivated approach.
