Milk Education is recruiting Primary Cover Supervisors to work across welcoming schools in Durham from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers and experienced education professionals who are confident leading a classroom and want to gain valuable experience before progressing into teaching.

You’ll step into classrooms, deliver pre-planned lessons and keep pupils engaged, focused and motivated throughout the school day.

What You’ll Be Doing

• ‍ Supervising classes while the regular teacher is unavailable.
• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and activities.
• Keeping pupils engaged and on task.
• Supporting different learning abilities and needs.
• Managing classroom behaviour positively and confidently.
• Helping pupils complete their assigned work.
• Creating a calm, positive learning environment.
• Working alongside teaching and support staff.
• Providing feedback to the class teacher where appropriate.

We’re Looking For Someone Who…

• Is confident, organised and approachable.
• Has excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Can confidently lead a class independently.
• Has experience working with children or young people.
• Is a graduate, aspiring teacher or experienced education professional.
• Has school, tutoring, coaching, youth work or volunteering experience — desirable.
• Can adapt quickly to different schools and year groups.
• Is reliable, professional and enthusiastic.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
