SEND Reform Lead – Experts at Hand
Location: Swindon
Rate: £450 per day
Hours: Full-time

Pertemps Social Care are currently recruiting for an experienced SEND Reform Lead to join a Local Authority in Swindon and lead the mobilisation and early delivery of an innovative Experts at Hand model.

This is a senior strategic opportunity for an experienced SEND professional with a strong background in service development, transformation and partnership working.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders across Education, including the Director of Education and Head of SEND, alongside health partners and the wider local area partnership. The role will focus on establishing a high-quality, accessible and sustainable model of support for schools and settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the mobilisation and implementation of the Experts at Hand model.
    • Work with senior leaders, SEND teams, health partners and schools to support integrated working.
    • Establish a multi-disciplinary team of EPs, SaLTs, OTs and specialist teachers.
    • Develop clear access pathways and promote early intervention and inclusive practice.
    • Establish governance, performance monitoring and reporting arrangements.
    • Monitor impact and use data to drive service improvement.
    • Support effective use of resources and funding.
    • Represent the model across the Local Authority, schools and wider partnership.
Essential Experience:
  • Significant professional experience within SEND, education, health or Local Authority services.
    • Proven experience leading service development, transformation or change programmes.
    • Experience delivering change at pace within complex public sector environments.
    • Strong partnership working and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience influencing senior leaders and multi-agency partners.
    • Strong understanding of SEND and the wider education system.
    • Excellent strategic planning and project management skills.
    • Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical operational delivery.
    • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience establishing effective governance, performance and reporting arrangements.
