Head of Events

Location: London – 2 days on-site, 3 days WFH
Rate: £500 per day
Contract: Interim, minimum 3 months preferred
Start: ASAP
Travel: UK and international travel required

We’re partnering with a major global business to hire an experienced Interim Head of Events to lead its Global Events function during a period of transition.

This is a genuine senior leadership role, combining event strategy, team leadership, senior stakeholder management and hands-on delivery across a busy international events portfolio.

The successful candidate will lead a team of experienced events professionals and take ownership of approximately 40–50 events per year across digital, hybrid and face-to-face formats.

The role

You’ll be responsible for providing stability and leadership across the Global Events team while overseeing the delivery of a varied portfolio of high-profile events.

This includes:

• Leading and supporting a senior events team
• Overseeing global event strategy and delivery
• Managing digital, hybrid and face-to-face events
• Delivering major launches, conferences and executive experiences
• Overseeing international incentive travel and sales events
• Managing board dinners and senior stakeholder experiences
• Working closely with production crews and external suppliers
• Supporting agenda development and creative event solutions
• Managing an annual events budget of approximately £1.5m
• Partnering with senior stakeholders including executive leadership and sales teams
• Ensuring events are delivered to a consistently high standard across multiple markets

What we’re looking for

You’ll need to have:

• Significant experience operating at Head of Events or Events Director level
• Proven experience leading and developing an events team
• Strong experience across face-to-face, hybrid and digital events
• Experience managing complex, high-profile corporate event portfolios
• Strong senior stakeholder management skills, including C-suite exposure
• Experience managing significant event budgets
• Strong supplier, agency and production management experience
• The ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
• A hands-on, player-manager approach
• Availability to start quickly

Experience within a large corporate environment is preferred, although financial services experience is not essential.

This role would suit an experienced interim events leader who can quickly step into an established function, provide leadership and continuity, and ensure a demanding global events calendar continues to run smoothly.
