About the role

Post: Infrastructure & Change Engineer

Location: Wiltshire/Gloucestershire based. Role will be based within a school, with travel to other schools within the area required.

Salary Range: £30,024 - £32,597. NJC Grade E (Plymouth NJC)

Contract Type: Permanent, full time

Contract Hours: 37.5HOURS per week, Monday to Friday

About the role

Working as part of the Trust wide Infrastructure & Change Engineer, the Infrastructure &Change Engineer works across all schools providing Infrastructure & Change management across our wide range of school settings, as well as remote change across the Trust as a whole.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting infrastructure centralisation and integration across Trust sites

Supporting servers, storage, networks, and virtual environments

Supporting cybersecurity, backup, and disaster recovery strategies

Administering user accounts, permissions, and access control

Ensuring compliance with GDPR and safeguarding standards

We’re looking for someone with:

At least 3 years’ advanced experience in IT architecture and security

Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and MIS platforms

Strong knowledge of Unifi & Meraki Networks

Experience with virtualisation (Hyper-V), networking (VLANs, WAN), and endpoint protection

Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills

A proactive, service-focused mindset with the ability to lead and innovate

About the successful candidate

The successful candidate will be experienced in IT within the Education, corporate or non-profit sector, with a focus on customer service and satisfaction through problem resolution. They will also:

Have good written and verbal communication skills.

Be flexible and willing to learn.

Have a UK driving licence.
