Support Worker – Drivers

ASA Recruitment have opportunities available for Support Workers with learning disabilities or complex care backgrounds who hold a valid UK automatic or manual driving licence.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting individuals to appointments, community activities and essential services using their mobility cars.

Key Responsibilities

Provide person centred support to adults with learning disabilities, helping them live independently and safely.

Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication support and household tasks.

Support individuals to develop life skills such as budgeting, cooking, travel training and social interaction.

Encourage participation in meaningful activities, hobbies and community engagement to promote confidence, independence and wellbeing.

Support individuals in managing challenging behaviours using de-escalation techniques and following personalised risk management plans.

Maintain accurate records, monitor changes in behaviour or wellbeing and communicate effectively with families and multi-agency teams.

Advocate for individuals’ rights, choices and preferences, ensuring they are empowered in decision-making and day-to-day life.

Who We’re Looking For

Experienced Support Workers with a background in complex care, learning disabilities or similar settings.

Understanding of community care, reablement and justice services.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly.

PVG membership or willingness to update.

Confidence working autonomously, including lone working.

Valid UK driving licence – Automatic or manual.

Willingness and confidence to drive service user vehicles.
