HGV Class 2 Driver

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join their established team.

This is a permanent opportunity for an experienced driver looking for a stable position with a well-established company, with £36,000 basic salary plus the opportunity to earn up to an additional £3,900 per year through night-out payments.

Working 45 hours per week, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of large materials to customers across the UK. You will also operate the HIAB and provide a professional and customer-focused service to customers.

The role involves 2–3 nights away from home each week, with a fully equipped sleeper cab provided.

The role

You'll be responsible for delivering large materials to customers across the UK, ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and professionally.

The role would particularly suit a driver with previous experience delivering builders' merchant materials, construction products, timber, steel or similar large materials.

You'll need to be comfortable with 2–3 nights away from home each week and operating the HIAB as part of your daily duties.

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence
• HIAB trained/certified
• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience
• Up-to-date CPC
• No more than 3 points on your licence
• Strong employment history
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Professional, polite and presentable
• Flexibility around start times
• Comfortable with regular overnight stays
• Aged 25+
