About the role
Location: DN9
Year Group: Year 5
Contract: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £140–£165 per day, depending on experience
Provide Education are currently working with a lovely primary school in a small village in the DN9 area, who are looking for a Year 5 Teacher to join their team on a part-time, permanent basis.
This is a really nice school with a welcoming feel and a strong sense of community. The staff work well together and there is a real focus on making sure pupils feel supported, settled and able to achieve.
The school has a range of pupils with different needs, including SEND, so they are looking for someone who is confident adapting their teaching and who understands that one approach doesn’t always work for every child.
The roleYou will be taking responsibility for a Year 5 class and delivering the full KS2 curriculum. The school is looking for someone who can build good relationships with pupils, keep them engaged and create a classroom where children feel confident to learn.
You will be expected to:
- Plan and deliver lessons across the Year 5 curriculum
- Adapt lessons to suit different abilities and learning needs
- Support pupils with SEND and additional needs
- Monitor and assess pupil progress
- Manage behaviour confidently and fairly
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom
- Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff
- Build good relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
What we’re looking for
- QTS
- Previous experience working in a UK primary school
- Good knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
- Year 5 teaching experience is desirable
- Experience supporting children with SEND would be beneficial
- Strong classroom management
- A patient, positive and flexible approach
- Someone who is happy to be part of a close-knit school team
- Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
