About the role

Finance Administrator

Location: APHA,Isca Building, Manley House, Exeter, EX2 7LQ
Salary: £13.47 per hour
Contract Type: fill time, temporary assignment initially for 3 months with a possibility for extension.

Hours: Hybrid, Monday-Thurs-9AM to 5 Pm and Friday 9 AM to 4.30 pm

Clearance: Basic DBS

Training: on job training

Brook Street in partnership with the Animal & Plant Health Agency - (APHA) has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as a Finance administrator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support in a fast-paced environment.
  • Process sensitive financial and personal data accurately and confidentially.
  • Maintain records and update information across multiple systems.
  • Manage shared mailboxes, telephone enquiries, and customer queries.
  • Liaise with internal teams, stakeholders, delivery partners, and external customers.
  • Process invoices and high-value compensation payments.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and internal procedures.
  • Support team meetings, training activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and manage customer expectations effectively.

Essential Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience handling sensitive financial and personal information.
  • Strong teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload demands.
  • Customer-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with financial processes, invoicing, or payments.
  • Experience handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint or similar systems.
