Receptionist
Location: St. Austell (address: 1 Lytton Place, PL25 4PE)
* Part time 22 - 22.5 hours per week over 3 days (days TBC)
* Pay rate: £12.71
* Training will be provided through local induction/training
* evel of Clearance: HMPPS vetting/basic DBS (Costs covered by the hiring process)
Are you the friendly first-impression that people remember? Our Client is looking for a Receptionist to join their team in St. Austell, providing a calm, professional welcome while supporting day-to-day building and admin needs. This role runs at approximately 22-L22.5 hours per week, with shifts to be confirmed (around 3 days a week, which may include evening working).
What you'll be doing:
* Acting as the first point of contact for service users and visitors, welcoming people professionally via telephone, email, and face-to-face
* Issuing visitor passes and security fobs
* Using observation and situational awareness to help diffuse potentially challenging situations, and escalating for support when needed
* Managing incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
* Ordering PPE, office stationery, and other supplies as required
* Keeping meeting room equipment and facilities in good order
* Processing bus fares, travel warrants, and petty cash transactions
* Supporting health, safety, and security requirements for the building, including key holder duties and alarm testing procedures
* Monitoring CCTV systems and assisting with evacuations where necessary
* Logging incidents and maintaining records for maintenance requests and repairs
* Providing administrative support to Probation Practitioners and Case Administrators
What you'll bring:
* GCSE Grade A*-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths (and Welsh where applicable), or proven experience in a comparable role
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal professionally with members of the public and service users
* Great organisational and administrative skills, with confidence maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
