Automatic Door Engineer

Enfield, Greater London Plan B We’re recruiting an Automatic Door Engineer to join our North London team. This role is open to both experienced Automatic Door Engineers and engineers from PPM, Field Service, or electrical maintenance backgrounds who want to progress into the automatic door industry. As an Automatic Door Engineer, you’ll work for a global entrance solutions provider delivering high-performance automatic doors and access systems across retail, healthcare, transport and commercial sites. Role Overview As an Automatic Door Engineer, you’ll carry out service, maintenance, and repairs on sliding, swing, and revolving automatic doors across Enfield and North London. This position suits an engineer with strong electrical fault-finding skills who wants structured training, progression, and long-term stability. Key Duties * Servicing, repairing and fault-finding on automatic sliding, swing and revolving doors * Electrical checks, sensor testing and control system diagnostics * BS EN 16005 safety checks and compliance documentation * Attending breakdowns and delivering first-time fixes * Supporting installations and commissioning * Providing clear updates and professional on-site service Ideal Candidate * Automatic door experience or PPM / Field Service / electrical maintenance background * Strong fault-finding skills and basic electrical knowledge * Full UK driving licence + relevant operating licences * Confident working independently across customer sites * Positive, reliable and customer-focused approach Salary & Benefits * Experienced Automatic Door Engineer: up to £44,300 * PPM / Field Service Engineer (entry level): up to £35,000 * £200 weekly on-call premium (£2,400 per year) * Premium overtime (1.5x & 2x) * Monthly bonuses (£200–£600) * 33 days holiday * 4 week technical training + ongoing development * Modern van, tools, tablet, uniform, fuel card * Healthcare, life cover, enhanced family leave Apply Now If you’re an experienced Automatic Door Engineer or an engineer with electrical fault-finding experience looking to step into the industry, send your CV to start the conversation
