Senior Accountant

Overview
A growing financial services organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Hartford finance team. The role will own key elements of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close while gaining exposure to broader finance initiatives.
This is a great role for someone looking to learn Assurance/Auditing or is currently working within a Financial Services organisation.
Core Responsibilities

Prepare GAAP journal entries, reconciliations and accounting analyses
Own key components of the financial close
Prepare financial and management reporting
Investigate variances and resolve accounting issues
Support internal and external audits
Partner with Finance and business teams on projects
Improve close processes, reporting and automation

Qualifications

4+ years of accounting / finance experience
Strong US GAAP (accounting or Audit) and/or financial close experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Strong Excel and analytical skills
Detail-oriented, proactive and deadline-driven
Strong communication skills
Insurance, financial services or complex corporate accounting experience preferred
