Morson Edge is recruiting a Compliance Investigator to support a leading rotary-wing Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organisation based at Oxford Airport.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aviation quality or compliance professional to play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance within a highly regulated aircraft maintenance environment.
Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Production and Safety teams, you’ll investigate compliance-related issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions and help drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

The Role
Reporting within the Compliance and Quality function, you will investigate compliance events, maintenance discrepancies and quality concerns to determine root causes and ensure effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
You will also support regulatory audits, compliance monitoring activities and continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with engineering, production and safety teams to maintain the highest aviation standards.
As part of the role, you’ll be required to travel to other UK company sites when necessary to provide compliance support and help ensure consistent standards across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Investigations
- Conduct investigations into compliance events, maintenance discrepancies and safety concerns
- Carry out MEDA investigations where required
- Apply Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques including 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams and Fault Tree Analysis
- Identify Human Factors and Human Performance issues
- Monitor trends and identify recurring compliance risks
Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UK CAA/EASA Part 145, Part CAMO and Part 21G requirements
- Support compliance with MAA MRP145 and Military CAMO regulations where applicable
- Assist Quality Assurance teams with audits and regulatory inspections
- Coordinate responses to audit findings and non-conformances
- Monitor corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and operational processes
- Support implementation of risk mitigation strategies
- Promote best practice in compliance, safety and human factors
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Produce detailed investigation reports and recommendations
- Present findings to senior management where required
- Maintain accurate investigation records and compliance documentation
- Work collaboratively with engineering, production and safety teams
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience conducting compliance investigations within an aviation maintenance or aerospace environment
- Strong knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies
- Thorough understanding of UK CAA/EASA Part 145 regulations
- Knowledge of Human Factors and Human Performance principles
- Experience analysing maintenance records and technical documentation
- Experience conducting audits and inspections
- Strong report writing, analytical and presentation skills
- Experience using Quality Management Systems (QMS) and compliance monitoring software
Desirable Experience
- MEDA investigation experience
- Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
- UK CAA/EASA Part CAMO and Part 21G knowledge
- Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulations
- ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards
- Aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS)
- Lead Auditor qualification
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
Qualifications
Essential
- Formal training in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and investigative techniques
- Eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
Desirable
- Aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS) qualification
- Aviation Auditor or Lead Auditor certification
- Lean Six Sigma qualification
- Extensive aviation compliance, investigation or audit experience
