Night Shift Site Manager - Umbrella Only
Location: Beckton (E6)
Contract Type: Temporary (Approx. 4-5 weeks)
Working Hours: Night shift, 8pm to 6am, Sunday to Thursday
Start Date: Sunday 9th August
Rate: £350 - £400 per night (Umbrella payments only; CIS not permitted)
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Night Shift Site Manager to supervise specialist sub-contractors installing equipment and machinery within a food factory environment. The role requires effective management of on-site activities during night hours to ensure smooth installation progress, compliance with health and safety standards, and coordination between teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing subcontractor performance, maintaining site safety, and ensuring timely completion of works over a 4 to 5-week period. This position is paid exclusively via an Umbrella scheme, with no CIS payments allowed.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise specialist subcontractors installing equipment and machinery during night shifts
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and site rules
- Coordinate site activities to maintain programme and quality standards
- Conduct site inductions and toolbox talks as required
- Maintain accurate site records and report progress to management
- Manage site logistics and welfare provisions during night hours
- Identify and resolve site issues promptly to avoid delays
Skills
- Proven experience managing night shift site operations
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to supervise specialist subcontractors effectively
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Strong health and safety awareness and compliance
- Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
- Ability to maintain accurate site documentation
- Flexibility to work night shifts Sunday to Thursday
- Experience working in food factory or industrial environments (preferred)
Certifications & Standards
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – Essential
- First Aid Certificate – Essential
- Valid CSCS Card – Essential
