Specialist Support Staff

A supportive SEND‑focused school in Nuneaton seeks a committed Support Specialist for a full‑time role. You provide calm, structured 1:1 support for a vulnerable pupil who needs consistency, patience and clear routines. Moreover, you help the child feel safe, understood and ready to learn. In addition, you follow guidance from teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised support throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 SEND support for a pupil with additional needs
• Use clear routines to create stability and reduce anxiety
• Deliver targeted interventions that follow agreed plans
• Prepare adapted learning tasks to meet individual needs
• Support positive behaviour approaches through calm communication
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and support staff to maintain consistent provision

What We’re Looking For

• A qualified or experienced Support Specialist or Teaching Assistant
• Strong SEND experience supporting vulnerable pupils
• Clear communication and a patient, nurturing approach
• Ability to maintain consistency and follow structured routines
• Full‑time availability
• Interest in Nuneaton‑based SEND roles
