About the role
Our client, a specialist in the civil engineering sector, is currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a major project in Washington, Tyne and Wear. This position focuses on tunnelling and shaft sinking within the water industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing day-to-day site operations.
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Liaising with project stakeholders and providing regular progress updates.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering projects.
- Demonstrable experience in tunnelling and/or shaft sinking environments.
- Strong leadership and site management skills.
- Ability to manage subcontractors, site teams, and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certification.
- Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) qualification desirable.
