About the role
Our client is seeking highly skilled Geotechnical Site Investigation Engineers to join their team on a contract basis for a high profile project. This extensive project runs from early November until February 2027 and covers approximately 155km of pipeline route extending from Selby to Hull. The main compound is likely to be based around the Hull area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising drilling rigs and ensuring site activities adhere to safety and quality standards
- Conducting and evaluating trial pits to gather geotechnical data
- Performing detailed logging of geological materials and conditions
- Preparing technical reports and analyses based on fieldwork
- Collaborating with project teams to provide geotechnical input and support
- Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of project milestones
- Communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- Experience in geotechnical engineering, specifically within various site investigation techniques
- Capability to supervise on-site drilling and testing operations
- Proficiency in geological logging and data interpretation
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and methodologies
- Excellent report writing and technical documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification in a related field
