Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assist the classroom teacher by preparing learning resources, setting up activities, and managing classroom displays.

  • Run small-group intervention workshops in reading, writing, and early mathematics.

  • Provide targeted, nurturing support to children needing extra help to access their lessons.

  • Supervise children during outdoor playtime, lunch breaks, and on educational school trips.

  • Promote a positive, inclusive classroom environment by modelling respectful, proactive behaviour.


Requirements for the Role
  • Practical experience working alongside children (e.g. in classrooms, nurseries, playwork, or volunteering).

  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above).

  • A patient, proactive, and energetic approach to supporting children of all backgrounds.

  • A valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or readiness to apply for a new one).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
