Job description
The Training Delivery Advocate and Design role is an integral part of the team. This team is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and assurance of training, ensuring it meets the highest standards and operational requirements.
The TDCI team comprises a Training Design and Continuous Improvement Manager, a Training Design Officer, a Continuous Improvement Lead, and Training Delivery/Design Officers. As part of this collaborative team, you will play a key role in delivering a suite of courses and contributing to the design of training across various specialisations.
In this role, you will be supported by the wider team to ensure the effective delivery and design of training that aligns with organisational goals and meets the needs of learners. This is a dynamic position that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the quality and effectiveness of training within the organisation.
Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments.
Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. Delivering a suite of courses to RAF and MoD personnel in support of RAF Functional Safety.
Delivering Training in STS’s other subject areas, as discussed with your line manager.
Delivering training in accordance with Learning Specifications at MoD establishments, across the UK and abroad.
Staying current in their specialism’s legislation, RAF policy and relevant subject matter as appropriate. Ensuring courses are still current with regards to legislation, informing the Training Design Officer of key changes. Ensuring the use of up-to-date delivery material.
Liaison with key stake holders at Units in relation to offsite activities and training.
Set up of classrooms, preparation of training materials needed and ensuring equipment is functional.
Set-up, moderation and marking of examination papers.
Arranging own travel and accommodation for offsite working (expenses will be paid).
Liaise with the Training Design Officer and Training Delivery Team acting as the specialisation advocate and advising where appropriate to the development of the training requirements from Training delivery to Design and vice versa.
Design and development of course materials and support resources.
Participation in evaluation activities and validation of STS outputs.
Opportunities for project work involving Technology Enhanced Learning.
Person specification
The following skills and experience would be advantageous for this role. However, training and support can be provided to help you develop in these areas: Training Design Methods: Familiarity with training design methodologies such as the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) or the Analyse, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) framework. Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL): Knowledge and understanding of TEL tools and techniques to enhance the learning experience. IT Proficiency: Competence in using Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Forms, and PowerPoint. Military Background or Knowledge: Experience in or an understanding of military environments and operations.

A full driving licence is essential for this role, as it involves frequent travel across the UK. You may have the option to use your own vehicle or a vehicle provided by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for work-related travel.
