Part-Time PE Teacher

Location: Barnsley
Contract: Part-time (Monday, Wednesday & Thursday)
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: 1 half term
Salary: £110–£220 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

PK Education are working with a secondary school in Barnsley who are looking to appoint a PE Cover Supervisor or PE Teacher on a part-time basis from September 2026.

The school are open to either a qualified PE Teacher or an experienced PE Cover Supervisor, depending on experience and availability. This is a practical, active role within a well-established PE department, teaching and supervising PE lessons across KS3 and KS4.

For teachers, the role may include planning and marking responsibilities. For experienced Cover Supervisors, all work will be pre-set by the department.

The school has strong participation within PE, supportive staff, and good facilities, creating a positive environment for both students and staff.

The Role

Delivering PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
Leading practical activities and maintaining student engagement
Managing behaviour and ensuring lessons run effectively and safely
Supporting the wider PE department where required

Experience teaching or leading PE lessons within a secondary setting
Strong behaviour management and classroom presence
Energetic, reliable, and confident leading groups
Ability to build positive relationships with students quickly
