About the role

Part Time Case Administrator (AO Band 2)
Location: Croydon Probation Office, Croydon (CR0 1EX)

* Pay Rate: £14.91 per hour
* Working pattern: Part time, full office-based - 24 hours per week, Mon to Fri
* Clearance: Basic DBS required enhanced level 1 vetting - provided by Brook Street and the client
* Assignment length: until 31/03/2027, with possibility of extension
* Online typing test will be completed prior to interview (5 minutes, sentences mode) and evidence is expected at interview
* Out-of-hours work may be required

What you'll be doing:
* Set up and maintain accurate people on probation and victim information on approved databases
* Support referrals and the flow of information between offender management, victims, interventions, service providers and external agencies to help improve outcomes and reduce reoffending
* Prepare, maintain and collate case records, files and management information to required standards
* Receive and distribute communications (telephone, paper and email) in the right way, at the right time
* Provide cover for a reception and telephone enquiry service, where needed
* Act as a single point of contact within the unit for a specialist area of work (as required)
* Make practical arrangements to support the Sentence Plan (appointments, directions, etc.)
* Carry out enforcement administration when required, including appropriate record keeping
* Support meetings by organising agendas, taking and distributing notes/minutes and actions
* Provide Visor administration tasks in line with procedures (where required)
* Support safeguarding children duties in line with statutory responsibilities and agency policies
* Demonstrate pro-social modelling by reinforcing positive behaviour and attitudes, and challenging anti-social behaviour and attitudes
* Maintain compliance with Health & Safety processes and support equipment testing where required
* Undertake admin cover within the unit and across other areas as appropriate

What you'll bring:
* Strong keyboard and IT skills, with confidence using MS Office Word and basic Excel
* Excellent accuracy with a good keyboard touch-typing test required
- Minimum: 50 WPM
- Preferred: 65-80 WPM
- Accuracy: 95-97%+
* Confident written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate with people who may be distressed or display challenging behaviour
* Strong organisational ability, time management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
* A careful, quality-driven approach-diligent, accurate and committed to getting it right
* Ability to use databases and follow processes that involve sensitive/confidential information
* Confidence working on your own initiative and supporting a wider team when required
