A leading independent strategic communications consultancy is seeking a Health & Life Sciences Director to join its growing London team.

This is an opportunity to take on a senior leadership role within a dynamic, entrepreneurial agency that partners with high-profile organisations across healthcare, biotech, pharmaceuticals and beyond. The Opportunity

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and expanding the Health & Life Sciences practice, advising senior stakeholders on complex reputational, regulatory and business-critical challenges.

This position combines strategic client counsel, team leadership and business development, making it ideal for someone looking to shape and grow a practice within an ambitious consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic communications programmes for clients across pharma, biotech, medtech and healthcare
• Advise senior stakeholders on reputation, positioning, issues management and crisis preparedness
• Build and maintain long-term, senior client relationships
• Drive new business growth, including pitches, proposals and fee negotiations
• Collaborate with public affairs specialists on policy and regulatory engagement
• Lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams
• Deliver integrated, insight-led campaigns in complex and regulated environments
• Maintain and leverage a strong network of media and sector contacts

Candidate Profile

• 8+ years’ experience in health & life sciences communications, ideally within an agency
• Strong understanding of the scientific, regulatory and reputational landscape
• Proven experience advising senior clients in high-stakes environments
• Demonstrated success in business development and account growth
• Established network across media and/or policy within the sector
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
