About the role

First For Education are currently recruiting for a committed and compassionate Student Welfare Officer to join the pastoral team of a thriving secondary school in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact on their wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, and overall school experience. The successful candidate will work closely with students, families, safeguarding leads, and pastoral colleagues to provide effective support and early intervention where needed.

The Role as a Student Welfare Officer, you will:

  • Support the delivery of high-quality pastoral provision across the school.
  • Work closely with students and families to provide early help and intervention.
  • Promote positive behaviour, attendance, and student engagement.
  • Support safeguarding processes and contribute to student welfare initiatives.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and external agencies.
  • Work collaboratively with safeguarding leaders and the wider pastoral team.
