Science Teacher Vacancy in Sheffield
Provide Education are looking for a passionate and experienced Science Teacher to join a secondary school in Sheffield from September 2026.
This is a full-time opportunity, initially running from September until Christmas 2026, with the potential for the position to continue longer term. The role would suit a qualified Science Teacher who is looking for a rewarding opportunity within a supportive secondary school.
The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students develop their scientific knowledge and preparing them for their GCSE examinations. A strong understanding of the GCSE Science curriculum is desirable.

About the Science Teacher Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, challenging and well-structured Science lessons to students across a range of abilities.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4
  • Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Preparing students for GCSE Science examinations
  • Monitoring, assessing and recording student progress
  • Adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Maintaining positive behaviour and effective classroom management
  • Developing students’ scientific knowledge, understanding and practical skills
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Science department
  • Building strong and positive relationships with students
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school

What We Are Looking For
The school is seeking a committed Secondary Science Teacher who can confidently deliver the Science curriculum and inspire students to achieve their potential.
The successful candidate should ideally:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Have experience teaching Science within a secondary school
  • Be confident teaching KS3 and KS4
  • Have strong Science subject knowledge
  • Have a good understanding of the GCSE Science curriculum
  • Be confident delivering practical Science lessons
  • Have effective classroom management skills
  • Be passionate about supporting student achievement
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Be available for a full-time role from September 2026
