Science Teacher Vacancy in Barnsley
Provide Education are recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to work within a secondary school in Barnsley from September 2026.
This full-time role will initially run from September through to Christmas 2026, with the possibility of the position being extended beyond this point. It is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Science Teacher seeking a new role within a supportive secondary school environment.
The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students build their knowledge and confidence in Science while preparing them for their GCSE examinations. A solid understanding of the GCSE Science curriculum is highly desirable.

About the Science Teacher Role
As a Science Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that challenge students while providing the appropriate support for a range of abilities.
Your duties will include:

• Teaching Science across KS3 and KS4
• Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons
• Supporting students working towards GCSE Science qualifications
• Assessing and tracking student progress
• Differentiating teaching to support individual learning needs
• Maintaining strong standards of behaviour and classroom management
• Developing students’ scientific knowledge and practical skills
• Working effectively as part of the Science department
• Building positive and professional relationships with students
• Contributing to the wider school community

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a committed Secondary Science Teacher who is confident delivering the curriculum and passionate about helping students achieve their potential.
You should ideally:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Have previous experience teaching Science in a secondary school
• Be confident teaching KS3 and KS4
• Have strong subject knowledge in Science
• Have a good understanding of the GCSE Science curriculum
• Be confident delivering practical Science lessons
• Have strong classroom management skills
• Be passionate about education and student progress
• Be able to develop positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
• Be available for a full-time position from September 2026
