Civil Litigation Solicitor

TSR Legal are currently working with an established law firm who are looking to appoint a Civil Litigation Solicitor to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a strong civil litigation background to take responsibility for a varied caseload and work closely with the Head of Department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to handle matters from initial instruction through to resolution, providing commercially focused advice and achieving the best possible outcomes for clients.

The Role

You will manage a varied portfolio of contentious matters, advising clients on a range of disputes and developing appropriate strategies to progress each case. Your caseload is likely to include contractual disputes, commercial litigation and property-related matters, alongside general civil litigation.

The role will involve:

• Taking ownership of matters throughout the litigation lifecycle and ensuring cases are progressed efficiently.
• Advising clients on the merits of claims, potential risks and available options.
• Preparing pleadings, correspondence, applications and other legal documentation.
• Conducting negotiations and settlement discussions where appropriate.
• Attending court and representing clients in proceedings when required.
• Working closely with the Head of Department and wider team to deliver a high-quality service.
• Managing deadlines, caseloads and client expectations effectively.

About You

The successful candidate will be a UK-qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years’ PQE in Civil Litigation, with a solid understanding of litigation procedures and dispute resolution.

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience managing your own civil litigation caseload.
• 1+ PQE
• Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and litigation processes.
• Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience dealing with contractual, commercial and/or property disputes.
• The ability to provide clear, practical and commercially aware legal advice.
• A proactive and organised approach to case management.
