Site Engineer - Highways
Site Engineer | Banwell, Somerset | £450 per shift | Long-Term Contract
We’re currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major highways and civil engineering project in Banwell, Somerset. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a significant infrastructure scheme requiring expertise in drainage, setting out, and quality assurance.
Working alongside an established site team, you’ll play a key role in delivering a complex highways package, supporting both site operations and technical assurance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out accurate setting out for highways and civil engineering works.
- Support the delivery of approximately 7km of drainage works, including installations at depths ranging from 1m to 5m.
- Set out carrier pipes and filter drainage systems in line with project requirements.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with design specifications and quality standards.
- Assist with QA documentation, inspections, and records.
- Work closely with the Site Manager, Project Manager, and operational teams to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Utilise robotic total stations and AutoCAD for setting out and engineering activities.
- Support temporary works coordination and implementation where required.
- Essential Experience
- Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on highways and civil engineering projects.
- Strong setting out experience.
- Experience delivering drainage packages.
- Knowledge of highways construction, kerbing, and associated infrastructure works.
- Good understanding of quality assurance processes and site documentation.
- Competent in the use of robotic total stations.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a site team.
Qualifications
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Relevant civil engineering qualifications advantageous.
