About the role
There are 2 vacancies being appointed to at this time. A TA working full schools hours at this base can expect to work 32 hours a week over 5 days, term time only. We are seeking to appoint to vacancies of 1 full time and one part time (2 days a week) through this advert, but we are open to discussion around this and can accommodate 2 part time appointments.
About Us
Our Communication and Interaction Resource Bases are in mainstream schools where you will work closely with specialist and classroom teachers, providing directed support, care and supervision to children including those who have Autistic Spectrum Disorders and associated language, interaction, learning and communication difficulties.
The aim of your support and guidance will be to enable the children in Key stage 3 & 4 to access the curriculum and to facilitate full inclusion in school life, supporting children to learn as independently as possible.
About the Role
The Teaching Assistant (TA) role is an essential part of the educational team supporting students in the Communication and Interaction Resource Base. The primary responsibility is to support the Lead Teacher in all aspects of work of the resource base. This will include supporting students with their independence , learning , relationships, skills and behaviours.
About you
Our ideal candidates have a quiet and encouraging manner, highly developed communication skills and the ability to remain calm in difficult situations. You need to be open to learning and to have a commitment to inclusion for children and young people with Special Educational Needs. You will model positive communication and contribute to a culture of reflection and continuous service improvement in the base.
Additional information
Actual salary based on 32 hours per week term time only £19,915 - £21,578
