We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Programme Support Officer to join the Tax Profession Capability (TPC) Programme – a high-profile transformation programme at the heart of HMRC's ambition to build a skilled, future-ready compliance workforce. The programme is delivering major improvements in capability, learning, career pathways and professional standards, helping colleagues develop the skills they need to improve compliance outcomes and support HMRC's wider objectives.
The Tax Profession Capability (TPC) Programme is transforming how HMRC develops, supports and grows its Tax Professionals. Through new capability frameworks, learning pathways, career development opportunities and professional standards, the programme will help build a future-ready workforce capable of meeting HMRC's strategic objectives and improving compliance outcomes.
As a Programme Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of this high-profile transformation programme. Working across multiple projects and alongside the Programme Management Office (PMO), you will provide programme controls, governance, reporting and stakeholder support that enables effective decision-making and delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is highly organised, and can confidently manage multiple priorities whilst working with colleagues at all levels.
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong organisational abilities who is comfortable working with colleagues and senior leaders across organisational boundaries. The individual will be able to build strong relationships and join the dots.
They will need to be able to balance priorities and work in a fast-paced environment and working through ambiguity.
The post‑holder will not be expected to be a subject matter expert in all areas but will be expected to proactively join the dots, spot emerging issues, and ensure information is accurate.

Moves Adjustment Payment will be available for this role, provided the successful applicant is a current HMRC colleague in Bradford and meets the eligibility requirements outlined in the HMRC’s Moves Adjustment Payment guidance.
