About the role

    Permanent – Full Time

Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the city.

We are seeking a Senior Neighbourhood Officer to manage a patch of mixed tenure properties delivering a high-quality, customer services to residents. You will provide a regular and visible presence on estates, ensuring our homes are safe and well maintained, providing advice, information and understanding the needs of customers, tenants and leaseholders and respond to these, at both an individual and neighbourhood level.

You will be required to work closely with caretakers assigned to your patch and collaborate with Central Services, which handle desk-based transactional resident demand. This role is the custodian of the estates and neighbourhoods which they manage and will have influence over place shaping. You will foster great relationships with residents and will provide an important first point of contact for residents who require support.

We are looking for individuals who can deliver excellent customer services to internal and external customers, working with relevant colleagues within housing, other departments within the local authority, and other relevant external stakeholders. You will drive resident satisfaction, while ensuring residents are triaged to the appropriate team when the issues cannot be addressed at the first point of contact.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in customer services, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the confidence to navigate competing demands. You will build positive relationships at all levels and maintain a calm and solutions‑focused approach. With a commitment to collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement, you will help embed modern, efficient working practices and play an important role in enabling the Housing Management Team deliver high quality services. Flexibility to adapt at pace and support occasional out‑of‑hours commitments will be essential.
