This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead a new regional model for children’s care, founded on working across nine local authorities and the Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board (ICB).  The successful candidate will bring partners together, build confidence and trust across a complex landscape, and lead improvement outcomes for children and young people across the Cheshire and Merseyside Region.

    Role Overview

As RCC Delivery Director, you will play a pivotable role in leading one of the most significant reforms in children’s social care.  You will provide strategic leadership and be responsible for the development, mobilisation and delivery of this exciting reform programme.  You will work with multiple partners including the host local authority, Sefton, eight other local authorities, ICB, police and Youth Justice and so it is imperative that you are an excellent communicator, collaboration focussed whilst always maintaining the child’s voice at the heart of everything.  You will help to strengthen the region’s strategic commissioning capability to improve outcomes and ultimately greater lives for children in care.

It is important that you are able to develop and maintain strong relationships with children and young people and work with them to build a future which matches their vision.  In their words

We want a Director who is honest, kind, patient and genuinely interested in hearing our experiences and acting on what we tell them.  We want a leader who will work alongside us, champion our voices, and make sure children and young people across the region have the support, understanding and opportunities they need to thrive.”
