We are looking for a motivated, passionate and experienced person to join our fantastic service finance team. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of local government services while developing your career within a forward-thinking finance team.

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will provide strategic financial leadership across our Corporate Services portfolio. You will be working closely with senior managers, directors and elected members to ensure sound financial stewardship, robust decision-making and excellent value for money.

This is more than a traditional finance role. As local government enters a period of significant transformation, you will play a key role in supporting preparations for Local Government Reorganisation. You will help to shape the future financial sustainability and resilience of public services.

As a senior member of the Service Finance leadership team, you will:

  • Build trusted relationships with Directors, Assistant Directors, Chief Officers and Members, offering constructive challenge and strategic advice to support decision-making.
  • Lead, develop and motivate a team of finance professionals, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Champion innovation and modern financial management practices, identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and service delivery.
  • Support the organisation through significant change, helping senior leaders navigate financial risks, opportunities and complexities associated with Local Government Reorganisation.
  • Promote a commercial and outcome-focused approach, ensuring resources are aligned to corporate priorities and deliver value for residents.
