About the role
Vacancies: 1
Work Arrangement: On-site, five days per week
Location: Pickering or Mississauga
Hourly Rate: Up to $150/hour
Duration: 1 year (extended annually)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Supervisor to provide daily front-line supervision and technical leadership to a team of engineers supporting high-voltage systems within a nuclear environment.
The supervisor will plan and assign work, manage team priorities, oversee engineering processes and ensure all deliverables are completed safely, accurately and in accordance with applicable nuclear standards, schedules and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily supervision and technical direction to electrical engineers and project support staff.
- Plan, assign and oversee high-voltage engineering activities.
- Manage team workloads, priorities, schedules and technical deliverables.
- Monitor the performance, objectives and technical standards of assigned team members.
- Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
- Oversee power-system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination and arc-flash analysis.
- Provide technical oversight for transformers, switchgear, breakers, substations, protective relaying and electrical distribution systems.
- Support high-voltage testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and equipment replacement.
- Ensure engineering work complies with applicable electrical codes, nuclear standards, quality requirements and client procedures.
- Identify technical, scheduling and resource risks and develop appropriate solutions.
- Track project progress and provide updates to engineering and project management.
- Coach and mentor team members while supporting their technical development.
- Coordinate with clients, operations, project managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Support project scheduling, budgeting and resource planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) in Ontario is required.
- Minimum six years of related electrical engineering experience.
- Previous supervisory or technical leadership experience.
- Strong experience with high-voltage electrical systems and equipment.
- Experience supporting nuclear projects or working within an operating nuclear facility.
- Active OPG and/or Bruce Power security clearance.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards and engineering practices.
- Experience with power-system analysis software is an asset.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
