Senior Civil Engineer

Location: OPG & Bruce Power positions available
Vacancies: 8 Pickering and 3 Kincardine
On-Site: Onsite 5 Days a Week
Hourly Rate: $90 - $120/hour 
Duration: 1 Year (extended annually)

Key Responsibilities

• Complete complex civil engineering assignments involving design, analysis, evaluation, specifications and field execution.
• Review engineering designs, calculations, technical documents and project deliverables.
• Develop or modify engineering methods, systems and models to support project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, nuclear standards, quality requirements and client procedures.
• Evaluate technical issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
• Support field activities, testing and the resolution of construction or operational challenges.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, project management and client teams.
• Provide technical guidance and review the work of other team members.
• Prepare progress updates and technical reports for project leadership.
• Perform other project-related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) in Ontario is required.
• Minimum six years of relevant civil engineering experience.
• Previous experience supporting nuclear power projects or operating nuclear facilities.
• Active OPG or Bruce Power security clearance, depending on the assignment.
• Strong knowledge of applicable civil engineering codes, standards and analytical methods.
• Stress analysis experience is required for a minimum of 2–3 OPG-cleared positions.
• Experience with specialized civil or structural engineering software is an asset.
• Strong technical writing, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
