The Practice

The practice is led by an experienced Partner with a surgical certificate and benefits from further advanced surgical expertise within the wider clinical team. This provides an excellent level of support for case discussion and development, particularly for Veterinary Surgeons looking to strengthen their surgical skills or pursue further qualifications.

There is plenty of scope to work cases up fully, with the practice welcoming Veterinary Surgeons with a range of clinical interests and skillsets. You'll also have access to a nearby 24-hour hospital for additional clinical support and seamless referral of patients requiring enhanced care.

The emphasis is on providing a supportive environment where clinicians can develop their own interests while contributing to the continued growth of the practice.

The Role

This is a permanent Veterinary Surgeon position offering an excellent balance of clinical variety, development and work-life balance.

The full-time position is worked across a 4-day week, with a weekend rota offering either 1 in 3 Saturdays at the first opinion practice or 1 in 6 full weekends at a nearby hospital. Importantly, there is no on-call requirement.

Part-time applications are also welcomed, including candidates looking for up to approximately 30 hours per week.

You'll manage a varied first opinion caseload encompassing consultations, routine surgery, dentistry, medical cases and preventative healthcare. Candidates should therefore be comfortable with routine surgical procedures, dentals and consultations.

There is excellent scope to develop your own clinical interests, with further qualifications and certificates actively supported where appropriate.

The Candidate

You will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon who is confident managing a varied small animal first opinion caseload.

You'll be comfortable undertaking routine surgery and dentistry as well as consultations, while enjoying working collaboratively within a supportive clinical team.

The practice welcomes Veterinary Surgeons with a variety of clinical interests and skillsets, particularly those keen to continue developing their knowledge and experience within a progressive and well-equipped environment.
